Chosen

Lyrical Reads Book 2 brings the Exodus story to life. The stage will be set with a tale of God choosing Jacob (Israel) for a special purpose in our salvation history. We learn that God has chosen each one of us as a part of his plan. We are all woven into his design.

“The Burning Bush” is the earliest story that I penned in this collection, written when my children were small, about 30 years ago. The other 5 stories I have written and put to music within the last 3 years.

I find that I am aided in reading scripture when I can see myself in a character or circumstance, and I use that insight to discern what God is teaching my heart. Scripture is a beautiful teacher. I enjoyed seeing myself in the characters of Esau, Rebekah, Joseph, Rahab, and in the little girl who journeyed through the desert as she grew to adulthood in the story of “The Good Laws.”

Settling into scripture gives me insight into what God is ultimately teaching me about his plan for my life. After all, just like you, I have been chosen for a purpose that God has in mind. I don’t want to waste a moment without guidance along the path he has set for me.
