Signs

At our St. Victoria Sunset Fest talent show last night, I shared this lesson about signs using a story from my book, sung on ukulele. I had 3 girls helping to hold up camel signs during the presentation, as you will see.

The Bible reveals many hidden gems, especially when we ask the Holy Spirit to teach us. Read my message, and tap play below that to listen to the story.

My talent is that I have many small gifts which I especially like to share with children.

I am a poet, storyteller, singer, author, illustrator, catechist, and ukulele strummer.

When I was a young adult, I asked God to show me a sign so that I would know I was on his good path for my life and for choosing my profession. At that time, God’s sign came to me in the form of yellow roses.

This story is inspired by Chapter 24 of Genesis.

In this story, you will hear about Abraham’s servant asking God for a sign. In my story I propose that a young woman named Rebekah has also asked God for a sign. God’s sign for each of them will involve camels.

In my presentation, three girls from St. Victoria helped me to highlight the signs in this story. The girls were Ellie, Mia, and Grace. I had drawn 10 camels on their 3 signs which they lifted up whenever I said either the word ‘camel’ or the word ‘sign’.

The audience helped us out by holding up a peace sign whenever they heard the word ‘camel’ or ‘sign’ as I sang the story.

I have some coloring sheets to go along with this lesson, and they can be found on the Activities page of this website.

Now, let’s get to our story.
